12 Questions to ask when picking a Travel Companion
Picking a travel companion and Being the best travel companion you can be-- These are the issues.
It may not seem like a big deal. I mean the reasons are endless.... You're in love. She's your BFF- you're sisters from different misters!! The 5 of us have been friends since first grade~ We have the same sense of humor, we both like to travel, We're Soul mates Baby!
So were these people... until their marathon-travel-around the world together began. They soon became lone wonderers to this world tour!
This is what they forgot to ask:
1. How important is eating to you?
There we were, Curtis, me....,staring deeply into each others eyes in Korea. BFF's, soul mates, the Dream Team if you will... we had it all.
I heard a rumble. I was hungry! I started envisioning the exotic foods of Korea hitting my taste buds, soothing my little tummy. I looked over to my better half and mentioned we should get some food.
Bulgogi and Kimchi style of course..
The hunt began. The HUNT took forever.
My partner was looking for American cusines in a foreign country, or just crab meat that looks cooked and not like gelatin...
Alas we sat to eat somewhere, after a little reality-love-chat about which country we were dining at this particular day.
The food was ok, but the rumbling ceased. However, my compadres plate was still full and he was still hungry, but not saying so.
We left. Half full and Half empty, we hit the street of Korea. Eventually after a week of enormous hikes, plates stil full and tummies empty, little sleep (its harder to aclimate to time changes when you are not eating) and low blood sugar..we had what I call our first fight or the hyde to hyde combat.

Did I mention that half of my travel pleasure is food? Or that my partner in crime is a garbade desposal? I can't eat fake oreos all day without my hair falling out and sinking into a comatose state. My husband on the other hand converts oreos and snickers into a hybrid-super-fuel and has energy to climb mountains. Eating foreign is less of a necessity for him, while eating foreign makes traveling tangible to me- Not to mention possible!
(Don't get me wrong, he can enjoy great foreign food with the best of them, but it's not always his priority...and he doesn't like Korean food)
You need to figure out what type of eater you are, and make plans. Maybe play would-you -rather;
Would you rather... eat foreign food and see every site in China in a few days... or see every site in China in ONE-DAY and while eating pringles continously. Important info..neither bad!

Webster Dictionary: sleep deprivation: noun
The condition of being robbed of sleep, in real life or in experiment, as opposed to being unable to sleep.
